A work-related injury can affect more than physical health. Traumatic workplace events, catastrophic injuries, chronic pain, and prolonged recovery may significantly impact emotional well-being, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.
Dr. Mauro provides comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess the psychological impact of occupational injuries and determine how emotional factors may be influencing recovery. Evaluations are conducted objectively, utilizing evidence-based clinical practices and a trauma-informed approach.
Common referral concerns include:
Many individuals referred for psychological evaluations have experienced traumatic events, catastrophic injuries, chronic pain, or significant life stressors. Dr. Mauro recognizes that discussing these experiences can be emotionally difficult and conducts every evaluation with professionalism, compassion, and sensitivity.
A trauma-informed evaluation does not compromise objectivity—it strengthens it. By understanding how trauma can influence memory, emotional responses, behavior, and daily functioning, Dr. Mauro is able to conduct comprehensive, evidence-based evaluations while creating an environment where individuals feel respected, heard, and supported throughout the assessment process.
Each evaluation is tailored to the individual's unique experiences while maintaining the clinical objectivity and ethical standards expected of a comprehensive psychological evaluation.
