WORKING WITH TRAUMA SURVIVORS
Dr. Mauro has treated survivors of trauma since 2013. She has worked directly and almost exclusively with trauma and has treated trauma cases.
Dr. Mauro completed her internship and postdoctoral hours at Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI), a non-profit organization (located in Philadelphia) that provides expert clinical care for individuals suffering from the effects of trauma. She continued to work at JJPI as a psychologist and provided therapy and conducted evaluations.
She began her private practice in 2018 where she continues to treat trauma survivors.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Mauro is a consulting psychologist on work-injury catastrophic cases. She oversees the client's behavioral health recovery. She also provides subject matter expertise.
Dr. Mauro has training in evidenced based treatment for treating Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) She was trained by Dr. Foa's team and is certified in Prolonged Exposure therapy.
She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), aa treatment for children and adolescents.
Dr. Maura is trained to deliver Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She received training by the co-developer of the program, Dr. Katherine Chard.
EVALUATIONS
Dr. Mauro has conducted over 500 psychological evaluations for trauma survivors.
She also supervised evaluations conducted by mental health clinicians.
She has also conducted psychological evaluations with a focus on trauma for workers compensation related cases.
Currently, Dr. Mauro conducts psychological evaluations related to immigration cases. These evaluations on trauma and/or PTSD.
Dr. Mauro also conducts evaluations for those seeking to become foster parents in Bucks County.
Dr. Mauro is an adjunct professor teaching courses in the field of psychology.
She has provided testimony as a subject matter expert on PTSD/trauma.
Dr. Mauro has provided presentations for Workers Compensation judges on the topic of PTSD.
She has facilitated webinars on topics related to mental health
Dr. Mauro is a member of the American Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
